Development Associate for Grants and Communications
Position Purpose:
Provides support for the Director of Institutional Funding and implements communication strategies for the organization
Reports to:
Director of Institutional Funding
Hours:
40 hours per week, Mon-Fri, may include 1 late night
Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and submission of grant applications to foundations and government funders

Write and submit renewal proposals

Research potential grant opportunities and prospects

Assemble, analyze and maintain data to help track goals and outcomes of programs and services for reporting purposes

Assist with grant tracking process and maintenance of digital grant files

Interact with funders as needed

Produce clear and concise communications
-
Coordinate communication calendar for the organization

Help maintain consistency in style across all written materials

Handle multiple tasks and responsibilities with accuracy while meeting deadlines

Work collaboratively with development team, attending meetings, participating in webinars and trainings when appropriate

Participate in Mercy Center staff meetings and other agency-wide activities

Perform other grant-related and communication projects or tasks as requested
Qualifications

BA/BS degree
-
Commitment to the mission and values of Mercy Center

Excellent writing skills
-
Demonstrated attention to details

Excellent computer skills with knowledge of Donor Perfect and Grant Hub preferred

Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Outlook, Constant Contact

Experience using social media platforms

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask and use self-initiative
