The Launch: Open House and Holiday Special

January 9, 12:00pm-3:00pm

at Mercy Center (377 East 145th Street, Bronx)

We will celebrate our volunteers and friends - current and future - with a Puerto Rican lunch, songs from our Children's Chorus, short presentations about our core programming, and the official launch of our 20th Year Celebrations!

 

Hannah Hens-Piazza & Friends - A String Quartet Concert

Pray the Devil Back to Hell Screening and Q&A with the Producer

March 19, 7:00pm to 9:00pm

at Fordham Prep School (E. Fordham Rd, Bronx)

A documentary film, followed by Q&A with producer, Abigail E. Disney. This is the gripping account of a group of brave and visionary women who demanded peace for Liberia, a nation torn to shreds by a decades old civil war. Doors will open at 6:30pm, the screening will begin at 7:00pm, and the Q&A session will follow around 8:30pm. Light refreshments will be served. Click here to view a flyer with more information.

Sarah Pillow & the Mercy Center Chorus - A Concert of Songs

Sarah Pillow, a professional singer and the volunteer leader of our chorus, will lead the Mercy Center Chorus as they present various musical treasures uniquely accessible to families and friends of Mercy Center.

 

Mercy Center's 6th Annual Cocktail Gala and Auction

April 14, 6:30pm to 9:30pm

At The Central Park Boathouse (East 72nd Street & Park Drive North)

Please join us for an evening of fun and fundraising as we ensure support for another 20 years of transforming lives in the South Bronx. This year, we will honor Abigail E. Disney, for her commitment to women's advocacy and her generous support of Mercy Center since our founding.

 

Health Fair

International Festival

May 15, 1:00pm to 4:00pm

at St. Pius V School (413 East 144th Street, Bronx)

A multi-layered celebration of the richness and diversity of the Circle of Mercy. Begins at 1:00pm with hors d'oeuvres from around the globe and continues with music and live entertainment. Don't miss this opportunity to see old Mercy Center friends and to make new ones. This event is for adults only and attendees are asked to wear something that reflects the colors, costume or feeling of your native country.

 

Volunteers & Friends BBQ

Join us for a gathering to celebrate all who make our Center possible.

 

Retreat Day

September 18, 8:30am to 3:30pm

Bus from Mercy Center - Marian Woods

An opportunity for participants, volunteers, Mercy Associates and Mercy Center friends to spend a few hours in quiet space (Marian Woods in Hartsdale, NY) to reflect on Mercy Center's mission of Mercy in the South Bronx and the life and work of Catherine McAuley, the 19th century founder of the Sisters of Mercy.

 

Anniversary High Tea

September 18, 3:30pm

at Mercy Center (377 East 145th Street, Bronx)

Using the life of Catherine McAuley and the role of tea in hospitality and community-building, Mercy Center will host an afternoon High Tea with a Mercy Sister and Mercy Associate leading ritual and reflection.

 

Anniversary Dinner

This is a rare and elegant night of mingling among participants, volunteers, staff, and supporters while celebrating 20 years of community and transformation in the South Bronx. Fine surroundings, excellent table service and good food will make this night stand out.
